Our Story

Camp Brick was born from a mother’s love, a child’s curiosity, and a box of LEGO® bricks.

When my son Gunnar was little, he was diagnosed with autism. As a single mom, I was always searching for ways to help him learn, connect, and have fun. What I discovered was that LEGO® building opened up a world for him, encouraging focus, fine motor skills, and most importantly, play alongside other children. Watching his confidence and joy grow with every build inspired me to create something bigger.

That experience became the foundation for Camp Brick, a place where all children, no matter their abilities, can come together to build, imagine, and belong. With the help of my family, what began as a small neighborhood camp quickly grew into a vibrant

community program. Fueled by my entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for education, I’ve continued to expand Camp Brick’sreach and offerings, developing creative, hands-on programs that spark curiosity and confidence in every child.

Today, more than 3,000 children each year participate in Camp Brick’s after-school enrichments and summer camps across Nashville and surrounding areas, and we’re now expanding into new states with an exciting proven business model. From LEGO® building to robotics and coding, animation to engineering, our themed programs ignite curiosity and imagination. Camp Brick continues to grow, but our mission remains the same: to give every child a space where they feel included, inspired, and proud of what they build.

When founder Jenny Thayer saw how building with LEGO® helped her son Gunnar, who is on the autism spectrum, to connect, create, and grow, she was inspired to share that experience with others. What started as a small family project has grown into a thriving community where every child feels included, inspired, and proud of what they build.
