Our Story
Camp Brick was founded nearly 14 years ago by Jennifer "Jenny" Thayer in Nashville, TN. Inspired by her son Gunnar’s love for LEGO® bricks and her desire to create an inclusive environment, Jenny started Camp Brick as a small family-run operation. With the help of her parents, Nancy and Larry Rollins, the camp quickly gained popularity due to its unique blend of structured activities and free play. Jenny’s goal was to make a positive impact on families in the greater Nashville area, providing a space where all children could come together, build, and learn.
In its early days, Camp Brick's approach of combining play with educational activities resonated with the community, leading to rapid growth. Jenny's entrepreneurial spirit and her passion for fostering creativity allowed her to continuously innovate and expand the camp’s offerings. Specialized workshops, seasonal camps, and advanced robotics programs were introduced to keep children engaged and excited to return each year. Her dedicated staff, many of them former campers, have been crucial in maintaining the camp’s welcoming and supportive environment.
Today, Camp Brick serves over 2,000 kids annually through its summer camps and after-school enrichment programs. Jenny’s vision for the future includes expanding through franchising, allowing more children to experience the joy and benefits of Camp Brick. Gunnar’s passion for building continues to be a driving force behind the camp’s success, and Jenny remains committed to creating a positive place for children to learn, grow, and build friendships. The camp’s focus on inclusivity and creativity has made it a beloved institution in the community.
